Our Story

Alegre Boards started with an old snowboard in the rafters of my garage in Southern California. It had seen plenty of days on the mountain, but those days were behind it. I couldn't help wondering if there was still a way to get a little more life out of it.

I'd always enjoyed making things and figuring out how things worked, so I decided to give it a try. I didn't have a grand plan, I just wanted to see if I could turn that old snowboard into something I could ride again.

That first board turned out to be a lot of fun. It looked a bit different, rode differently, but worked surprisingly great and often got people asking questions when I took it out. Before long, I was making more for family and friends, learning as I went and reengineering ways to make each board a little better. Over time, that work led to two U.S. patents for the Alegre Boards conversion system.

That's how Alegre Boards grew from a garage passion project into what it is today. We take retired snowboards and give them a second chance, this time on the pavement instead of the mountain. Each completed skateboard has its own history, its own look, and a new life ahead of it.
